ArchCare announced it was installing MedSign’s Qortex Telehealth System for all ArchCare Senior Life participants, allowing them to connect with health care professionals through their home television rather than a computer or smartphone and reduce emergency room visits and hospital admissions.

The system will also enable seniors to have video calls with friends and family through their television, “which can lessen feelings of isolation and improve mental wellness,” said ArchCare’s news release.

“We are proud to be the very first health care system in the United States to roll out the breakthrough MedSign Qortex Telehealth System to all of our PACE participants,” said Elizabeth Rosado, vice president of PACE at ArchCare. “Supporting the independence of our participants while caring for their physical and mental well-being is core to our mission and will be further enhanced with the Qortex system.”

ArchCare Senior Life is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that allows people 55 and over who require nursing home-level care to receive their care at home.

ArchCare started a pilot program with MedSign in October in PACE resident homes and decided to institute an accelerated rollout after receiving positive data and survey results from the pilot.

Installation, which began this month, will continue until all PACE resident homes have a Qortex Telehealth System.
